This position involves verifying medication orders entered after normal pharmacy hours, ensuring compliance with professional standards, facility procedures, and state and federal legal requirements. The primary duties include remotely verifying medication orders, reviewing patient medication profiles for allergies and interactions, and clarifying medication orders by communicating with nursing staff or on-duty providers. While the position is primarily remote, some onsite expectations in Independence, IA, will be required for training and support as needed. This role offers a flexible schedule, allowing for under 10 hours of work per week, primarily after normal operating hours for remote verification purposes. Responsibilities
• Responsible for remotely verifying medication orders entered after normal pharmacy hours.

• Verifies prescribed medications according to professional standards, facility procedures, and state and federal legal requirements.

• Reviews patient's medication profile for allergies, possible interactions, and appropriateness of the medication order.

• Clarifies medication orders by contacting the nursing staff or the on-duty provider.
,
• Communicates with on-site pharmacy staff regarding non-urgent follow-up for orders.

Requirements
• Requires a minimum of eight (8) years directly related and progressively responsible experience.

• A Degree in Pharmacy from an accredited College of Pharmacy is required.

• An unrestricted, current state license as a Registered Pharmacist in resident state is required.

• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
,
• Ability to work quickly and accurately under time and volume constraints.
,
• Strong leadership skills and interpersonal skills.
,
• Ability to resolve customer issues quickly and creatively to improve customer satisfaction.
,
• Familiarity with pharmaceutical products, services, and drug interactions.

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

• Good analytical skills.

• Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
