Key Responsibilities Deliver 1:1 online lessons to students, primarily during school hours, as part of our school-district partnerships. Utilize our innovative technology and Science of Reading curriculum to provide high-quality educational support. Participate in our robust professional development program to ensure you're equipped to achieve the best outcomes for our students. Maintain consistent availability and scheduling to facilitate effective student-teacher matching. Engage with students, assess their progress, and adapt teaching strategies as necessary to meet individual needs. Essential Qualifications and Skills To thrive as a Part-Time Online Educator with Hoot Reading, you should possess: A Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field. A minimum of 2 years of teaching experience in K-6 education, with a strong foundation in phonics, decoding, and reading fundamentals. A reliable laptop, stable internet connection, and a quiet, dedicated workspace. Proficiency in using digital tools and platforms to facilitate online education. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with students and collaborate with colleagues. While not mandatory, being bilingual in English and Spanish is considered a plus, as it expands your ability to connect with a broader range of students. Preferred Qualifications Consistent availability across the week (Monday to Friday) during our operational hours (8:00 AM – 6:00 PM CT), with a preference for peak hours (9:00 AM - 2:30 PM CT). Previous experience with online education platforms and virtual teaching methodologies. A commitment to ongoing professional development and staying updated on best practices in literacy education.
