Job Title: Part-Time Marketing Assistant (Remote) Department: Marketing Reports to: Head of Integrated Marketing Rate: $20/hour Estimated Time Commitment: 20 hours/week (flexible) Location: Remote (contractors must reside in one of the 24 states listed below) Posted: December 19, 2025 New Harbinger Publications, a leading publisher of evidence-based self-help and psychology books, is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Marketing Assistant to support our marketing and publicity team. This is a virtual, part-time (20 hours/week) contract position ideal for someone interested in learning the ins and outs of book marketing in a mission-driven, independent publishing environment. Key Responsibilities: • Enter and maintain metadata in our title management system to ensure accurate and timely book information across platforms • Pull, organize, and summarize campaign performance data for internal review and for author communications • Assist in the creation and management of digital ad campaigns, including copywriting and light design tasks • Communicate directly with authors, support campaign planning, gather information, and conduct promotional outreach What We're Looking For: • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail • Comfort with data, spreadsheets, and learning new systems • Clear and professional written communication • A proactive, collaborative attitude and willingness to learn • Interest in marketing, publishing, psychology, or self-help content a plus This is a great opportunity to gain real-world experience in book publishing and marketing strategy while working closely with a smart, supportive team.
