We are seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to join our team as a Part-Time Library Specialist at the Hobe Sound Public Library, located in Hobe Sound, FL. As a Library Specialist, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional customer service, supporting library operations, and promoting literacy and lifelong learning in our community. Job Summary: Under the general direction of the Unit Supervisor, the Part-Time Library Specialist will provide support services and customer service to internal and external customers. Responsibilities include information desk functions, shelf maintenance, periodicals maintenance, and recording basic library statistics. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for libraries, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently in a dynamic environment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers Respond to in-person, mail, telephone, IM, and email requests for information and research Provide mobile reference services and assist patrons with print and online resources Perform check-out desk procedures using a collection management system Maintain working knowledge of electronic and print resources Shelve materials accurately and perform shelf reading and re-shelving Compile statistics concerning library usage and reconcile customer accounts Instruct the public and library staff on the use of library resources Create topical book displays and promote library programs and services Assist with library event preparation and implementation Requirements: Associate's degree in Library Science or related field preferred Experience in library-related work desirable Valid Florida Driver's License required Ability to pass criminal background check and drug testing/screening Excellent communication and customer service skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Flexibility to work a schedule that may include evenings and weekends What We Offer: Competitive salary Opportunities for professional growth and development Dynamic and supportive work environment Chance to make a positive impact in the community How to Apply: If you are a motivated individual ready to contribute to a thriving team, we encourage you to apply now!
