Part Time Intern Bookkeeper

Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Intern Bookkeeper to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and providing insightful financial analysis to support business decisions. This role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles and proficiency in bookkeeping software.

Responsibilities
Ā• Perform daily bookkeeping tasks including data entry and maintaining the general ledger.
Ā• Conduct balance sheet reconciliation and ensure accuracy in account balances.
Ā• Prepare and analyze budgets to assist in financial planning.
Ā• Manage payroll processing and ensure timely payment to employees.
Ā• Execute account reconciliation processes to verify the accuracy of financial statements.
Ā• Handle tax preparation and compliance, ensuring all filings are completed accurately and on time.
Ā• Utilize Xero or similar accounting software for efficient record keeping.
Ā• Conduct account analysis to identify discrepancies and recommend corrective actions.
Ā• Assist in the preparation of financial reports for management review.

Qualifications
Ā• Proven experience in bookkeeping or accounting roles with a solid understanding of double-entry bookkeeping principles.
Ā• Proficiency in using accounting software.
Ā• Strong skills in balance sheet reconciliation, account reconciliation, budgeting, and general ledger reconciliation.
Ā• Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational skills.
Ā• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
Ā• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data effectively.
Ā• A degree in Accounting or Finance is preferred but not mandatory; relevant experience will be considered.
