Part Time Interim Controller
Job Title: Interim Controller (Part-Time, Remote)
Location: Fully Remote
Duration: 2-3 months minimum
Hours: 15-20 hours per week
Hourly Rate: $60-75+ W2 depending on experience
Job Description:
Jefferson Wells is seeking a skilled and experienced Interim Controller to join our client's team on a part-time basis. This is a remote position, with the potential for occasional travel to our office in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the monthly close process, generating financial statements, and consolidating financials across multiple entities.
Key Responsibilities:
Generate accurate and timely financial statements.
Support the monthly close process from an accounting perspective, including reviewing balance sheet accounts and consolidating multiple entities.
Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities.
Provide expertise in opening balance sheet and purchase accounting.
Perform detailed financial analysis and reporting.
Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and standards.
Collaborate with the finance team to improve financial processes and systems.
Requirements:
Proven experience in a controllership role, with a strong focus on financial statement generation and consolidation.
Intermediate to advanced Excel skills (macros not required).
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Experience in healthcare finance is highly desirable but not mandatory.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
CPA or equivalent professional certification is preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of relevant accounting and controllership experience.
Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
Familiarity with opening balance sheet and purchase accounting is highly advantageous.
