Part-Time Infant-Toddler Classroom Aide (Palmer Center Early Head Start) – To assist the teacher
and cooperate in a supportive role, providing and carrying out developmentally appropriate activities and
care. To promote the health, nutrition, and education of the children enrolled in our Early Head Start
programs and to attend to their safety and welfare.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• High School Diploma or GED
Infant-Toddler CDA Credential (or equivalent) - preferred upon hire – required after two years (ITCA I)
Current Infant-Toddler CDA Credential (or equivalent) – required (ITCA II)
Knowledge of Early Childhood Education Practices – generally gained through one year of experience
caring for infants and toddlers (ages 0-3), preferably in a center-based environment
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
• Pass a Criminal Background Check that Meets Required State & Federal Laws
Maintain Current CPR/First Aid Certification through an Approved Trainer
Keep State of Alaska Food Handlers Certificate Current
Participate in Required Annual Trainings
Complete Annual Self Prepared History Form
Able to Lift and Carry up to 50 Pounds
Capable of Getting Up and Down from the Floor with Ease
Can Stand and/or Sit for Extended Periods of Time Interchangeably, with the Ability to Regularly
Kneel, Stoop, Bend, and/or Sit on the Floor
Occasionally work 8 hour days to attend agency required training
GENERAL INFORMATION:

Supervisor: Center Coordinator
Schedule: Part-Time (25 hrs/wk), Full-Year (48 weeks/year)
Salary: $17.27 – $23.03 per hour DOE and education. Plus benefits: Professional
