Part-Time Financial Reporting Specialist for Family Office

Remote Full-time
About Us

We are a family office based in San Francisco, managing a diverse portfolio that includes investment management, trusts, real estate, and a venture capital fund for a high-net-worth individual. Our close-knit team consists of the principal, a strategic financial advisor, and part-time support staff. We are seeking a dedicated Financial Reporting Specialist to join us remotely, offering... flexible hours and an opportunity to contribute meaningfully to our financial operations.

Position Overview

This is a part-time, remote position with an initial commitment of 10-15 hours per week during onboarding, eventually settling into a steady 5-10 hours per week. The role requires a strong understanding of financial management, tax planning, and the ability to produce comprehensive reports that meet the needs of our principal and strategic financial advisor.

Key Responsibilities
• Prepare detailed financial reports, including quarterly updates for various entities and a comprehensive monthly Master Financials spreadsheet summarizing investments, net worth, and estimated tax liabilities.
• Collaborate with our bookkeeping team to ensure accurate financial reporting by integrating data from QuickBooks Online and other sources.
• Assist in calculating estimated quarterly tax payments and provide broad estimates of potential tax liabilities across different entities, in coordination with our long-time CPA who handles tax filings.
• Work closely with the strategic financial advisor and the principal to ensure that all reports are clear, actionable, and aligned with their requirements.
• Dedicate additional hours initially to familiarize yourself with the various entities, tax allocations, and the flow of funds between them.

Qualifications
• CPA certification is required.
• Extensive experience in financial management and reporting, particularly for high-net-worth individuals or family offices.
• Strong understanding of tax implications with the ability to provide broad estimates for tax planning purposes.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and advanced Excel skills.
• Ability to work independently and produce reports that meet the principal's needs.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with existing financial advisors and CPAs.
• Attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple entities with complex financial structures.
