Part Time Dispatcher

Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dispatcher to join our logistics team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in coordinating transportation operations, ensuring timely delivery of freight, and maintaining efficient communication between drivers and clients. This position requires strong analytical skills, proficiency in transportation management systems, and the ability to handle multi-line phone systems effectively. Responsibilities • Coordinate and schedule transportation routes for freight delivery using GIS and GPS technology. • Utilize transportation management systems to manage logistics operations efficiently. • Communicate effectively with drivers, clients, and vendors to ensure clear understanding of delivery schedules. • Perform data entry tasks accurately to maintain up-to-date records in systems such as Oracle Transportation Management and SyteLine. • Analyze supply chain processes to identify areas for improvement in dispatching and logistics. • Manage shipping and receiving operations, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures. • Handle multi-line phone systems to address inquiries and provide support to drivers and customers. • Collaborate with fleet management teams to optimize vehicle utilization and reduce operational costs. Qualifications • Proven experience in dispatching or logistics is preferred. • Familiarity with transportation planning, freight management, and supply chain processes is essential. • Strong analysis skills with the ability to assess data for decision-making purposes. • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a focus on phone etiquette. • Proficient typing skills for data entry tasks. • Experience with 3PL operations is a plus. • Knowledge of AS400 systems is beneficial but not mandatory. • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities effectively.
