Part-Time 20 Hour Staff Accountant
Description
We are searching for a meticulous Staff Accountant to join our team in the Wholesale Distribution industry. This role is based in Mendota Heights, Minnesota, and offers a long-term contract employment opportunity. As a Staff Accountant, you will be tasked with handling a variety of accounting duties, including processing customer applications, maintaining customer records, and... resolving customer inquiries. This position is part-time between 20-25 hours each week. Monday and Tuesday are required to work half days and the remaining days are flexible with hours.
Responsibilities
Accurately process customer credit applications in a timely manner
Maintain and update customer credit records regularly
Conduct bank reconciliations to ensure accurate financial reporting
Manage and maintain the general ledger for accurate financial entries
Prepare and post journal entries to ensure all business transactions are recorded
Assist with month-end close procedures for timely financial reporting
Utilize NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, and SAP for various accounting tasks
Handle accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) operations
Monitor customer accounts and take appropriate action when necessary
Resolve customer inquiries promptly and professionally.

Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
Proven work experience as a Staff Accountant or relevant role
Proficiency in MS Excel and accounting software
In-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
Awareness of business trends
Familiarity with financial accounting statements
Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process
Hands-on experience with accounting software packages like FreshBooks and QuickBooks
Advanced MS Excel skills including Vlookups and pivot tables
Accuracy and attention to detail
Aptitude for numbers and quantitative skills
Strong organizational, analytical and communication skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Knowledge of NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, and SAP is a plus
Experience with accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations, and journal entries.
