This remote position requires an individual with substantial knowledge and expertise in criminal defense law who can assist attorneys in managing a diverse range of cases.Key Responsibilities:Assist attorneys with trial preparation by organizing case files and conducting in-depth legal research.Draft a variety of legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and client correspondence pertaining to criminal defense matters.Review and summarize evidence, including police reports and witness statements, to support case strategies.Maintain an organized case management system, ensuring all documentation is properly filed and accessible.Communicate effectively with clients, witnesses, and experts to streamline case progress.Support attorneys in trial preparations by coordinating exhibits and organizing materials.Conduct legal research as needed to aid in case development and strategic planning.Assist with administrative tasks including billing and case management duties when required.RequirementsAssociate's degree or equivalent experience within a legal setting.2-3 years of experience as a paralegal, with a focus on criminal defense being highly desirable.Comprehensive understanding of criminal law and pertinent legal principles.Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal research tools.Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.Fluency in English is required.Familiarity with US criminal law on both state and federal levels.A minimum of one year of experience in a law office or legal environment.Solid writing and drafting skills.Experience with CLIO Manage software is a plus.Strong customer service skills.Able to work efficiently under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a dynamic environment.Experience with case management software is an advantage.BenefitsBenefitsCompetitive salary (USD)Work From HomeFlexible hours Originally posted on Himalayas
