Cohen Milstein Sellers & Toll is seeking paralegals to join our Amazon Flex Driver Mass Arbitration team. This is an exceptional opportunity to contribute meaningfully to public service through private practice. Employment is solely linked to the Amazon Flex Driver Mass Arbitration. The position is expected to last at least a year and may be renewed depending on the litigation status. Cohen Milstein, along with our co-counsel Gibbs Mura, represent thousands of current and former Amazon Flex delivery drivers in California, Illinois, and Massachusetts who allege that Amazon misclassified them as independent contractors instead of employees to avoid paying them fair wages or reimbursement for expenses, and to deny them other benefits under these states’ laws. Amazon’s Independent Contractor Terms of Service, to which Flex drivers must agree when signing up for the Flex program, directs Flex drivers’ claims to proceed individually in arbitration with the American Arbitration Association. More information on the case can be found at . Paralegals will work remotely and, depending on available space, may work in offices in Washington, D.C. The individual hired for this position may provide the following legal and administrative support functions for mass arbitration counsel: managing case files and calendars compiling and organizing exhibits for briefs and arbitration hearings cite-checking and proofreading pleadings assisting with client communication to collect documents and information assisting with time records Ideal candidates should possess the following: Qualifications: A four-year degree with strong academic credentials Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate on a team Experience with database management systems such as Microsoft Access is a plus. Must reside in Connecticut, District of Columbia, Florida, Illinois, Massachusetts, Maryland, Minnesota, North Carolina, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Texas, or Virginia . Schedule: Full Time: 35 hour work week – Typically Monday through Friday; 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (with some adjustments based on the time zone of the arbitrations), with flexibility for overtime as needed. We offer a competitive salary, excellent benefits, and a wonderful work environment. The salary indicated is annualized based on an hourly rate of $35.71 - $41.21, excluding bonus.
