Paralegal I - Litigation

The Paralegal I - Litigation will perform legal tasks and provide administrative support to attorneys, coordinating with various departments to manage documents for review and assisting in the discovery process.ResponsibilitiesCoordinating and assisting in the discovery process including gathering, reviewing, and analyzing documents for production, with guidance of an attorney or senior paralegal, and managing and utilizing e-discovery platformsAssisting with the preparation of legal documents including pleadings, motions, and exhibits, discovery requests/responses, and correspondence in accordance with court rules and deadlinesAssisting in preparing witnesses for deposition, internal client investigations, and assisting attorneys with client interviews by assembling witness binders, containing interview memos, digests, and relevant documentsConducting basic searches and creating reports in databases or other document repositoriesMaintaining the integrity of the case or transactional documents generated throughout the duration of a case or transactionCompleting special projects on various issues as assignedProtecting and maintaining any highly sensitive, confidential, privileged, financial, and/or proprietary information that Latham & Watkins retainsSkillsA bachelor's degree (and a signed declaration if located in a California office), or a paralegal certificate from an ABA-approved programA minimum of one (1) year of experience in a law firm or other legal setting required, preferably as a paralegalDisplay proficient knowledge of applications typically used in a legal office environment, such as billing software and databases, and internet searching skillsDemonstrate knowledge of MS Office applications, specifically MS Word, MS Excel, and MS OutlookPossess well-developed and professional interpersonal skills and the ability to interact effectively with people at all organizational levels of the firmBenefitsHealthcare, life and disability insuranceA generous 401k planAt least 11 paid holidays per year, and a PTO program that accrues 23 days during the first year of employment and grows with tenureWell-being programs (e.g. mental health services, mindfulness and resiliency, medical resources, well-being events, and more)Professional development programsEmployee discountsAffinity groups, networks, and coalitions for lawyers and staffCompany OverviewLatham & Watkins is a global law firm with more than 3,500 lawyers in its offices located in Asia, Europe, the Middle East and the United States.
