They are seeking a Paralegal to provide support in various aspects of litigation, including document preparation, legal research, and trial coordination.ResponsibilitiesUnder the supervision of an attorney, coordinate, organize, prepare, and interpret complex legal documentsCoordinate with attorneys and paralegals to direct workflow on various casesReview, and maintain documents and case files; compile documents for filing with courts and relevant agenciesConduct electronic document reviews, coordinate productions of documents with attorneys, conduct searches of production databases for relevant documents, and conduct other related eDiscovery tasksAssist with drafting discovery, pleadings, and status reportsOrganize and conduct case-related team meetings as neededReview and draft summaries of discovery responses, document productions, and relevant recordsAssist with preparation and review of materials for court hearings and depositionsAttend client meetings, conference calls, and other case-related meetings with attorneysConduct legal research and document review; perform factual research in internal and external databases and librariesReview and process vendor invoices for accuracyCoordinate and prepare for trials; attend trials if necessary and provide support to attorneys at court and agency hearingsAccurately document and bill for all billable work and tasks according to billing procedures; meet annual billable hours requirementCommunicate and interact with filing clerks, courtroom assistants and calendar clerksLiaise with outside vendors such as court reporters, experts, mediators, etcSkillsAt least 1 year of experience preferred, working as a legal secretary or paralegal, preferably with a focus on personal injury, or construction defect cases in the State of CaliforniaFamiliarity with online databases and resourcesStrong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectivelyExcellent written and verbal communication skills, with professionalism in client and colleague interactionsAttention to detail and accuracy in document preparation and file managementProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software applicationsAbility to work independently, as well as collaboratively within a team environmentKnowledge of third-party e-filing providers, including but not limited to One Legal, First Legal, Odyssey File & Serve, and Green Filing, a plusKnowledge of PACER and the federal Judiciary's Case Management/Electronic Case Files (CM/ECF) system, a plusCompany OverviewKahana Feld is a law firm that focuses on business litigation, insurance, employment, and construction defect litigations.
