Palladyne AI (NASDAQ: PDYN) is an AI software company on a mission to automate physically demanding work that has historically been “too complex to automate.” With more than thirty years of robotics R&D — including during our time under Raytheon — we’ve developed advanced AI and ML software that enables robots to observe, learn, reason, and act with human-like intelligence.Our platforms empower many industrial robots and cobots (ABB, Fanuc, Kuka, Universal Robots, and more) to perceive real-world variation, maneuver autonomously, and manipulate objects with precision — all with minimal training time, limited data sets, and lower power requirements than traditional solutions.This technology is already reshaping industries including automotive, aviation, construction, defense, manufacturing, logistics, and infrastructure inspection. And we’re just getting started — our roadmap spans UAVs, UGVs, ROVs, and eventually humanoid robotics.We released the first commercial version of Palladyne IQ in October 2024, followed by Palladyne Pilot in Q1 2025. As we expand commercialization, every new hire plays a critical role in driving adoption, customer success, and organizational scale. Duties & Responsibilities Security Operations & Administration Administer and monitor enterprise security systems (SIEM, EDR, firewalls, IDS/IPS, DLP). Implement and enforce security policies, standards, and procedures. Perform vulnerability assessments, risk analysis, and remediation activities. Lead incident response efforts, including investigation, containment, and reporting. Compliance & Governance Ensure compliance with frameworks such as NIST 800-171, CMMC, RMF, and other federal requirements. Support audits and assessments (internal and external), including documentation and remediation tracking. Maintain System Security Plans (SSPs), POA&Ms, and related artifacts. Access Control & Identity Manage identity and access systems (e.g., Active Directory, Entra ID, PAM solutions). Enforce least privilege and multi-factor authentication policies. Infrastructure Security Secure on-premises and cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or similar). Harden systems, networks, and endpoints in accordance with CIS and best practices. Facility Security Support or serve as Facility Security Officer (FSO). Manage compliance with NISPOM and oversee physical security requirements. Coordinate with government agencies (e.g., DCSA) for inspections and reporting. Maintain personnel security clearances and related records. Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
This position requires access to export controlled technical data. Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access such controlled technical data prior to beginning work. Business demands may require Palladyne to proceed with candidates who are immediately eligible to access controlled technology.Active U.S. Government Security Clearance or favorable eligibility determination required7+ years of experience in IT security, systems administration, or cybersecurity roles required.Bachelor’s degree in information security, computer science, or related field (or equivalent experience).Strong knowledge of: Security frameworks (NIST, CMMC, RMF) Network security, endpoint protection, and system hardening Windows and/or Linux administration Experience with security tools such as SIEM (e.g., AlienVault), EDR, vulnerability scanners, and firewalls.Proven experience handling security incidents and compliance audits.Strong analytical and problem-solving abilitiesExcellent communication and documentation skillsHigh attention to detail and integrityAbility to work in a fast-paced, highly regulated environmentExperience as a Facility Security Officer (FSO) or Assistant FSO (preferred).Familiarity with NISPOM, DCSA requirements, and classified environment operations (preferred).Relevant certifications such as: CISSP, CISM, or CISA (preferred) Security+, CASP+, or equivalent DoD 8570/8140 certification (preferred) Experience with cloud security (AWS GovCloud, Azure Government) (preferred).Knowledge of SecDevOps practices and automation tools (preferred).OUR EMPLOYEE’S DNA· We look at the future and say “why not”; we see possibilities where others see problems or routines.
