Package Underwriter

RESPONSIBILITIES
ā¢ Evaluate new business submissions for appetite acceptability, proper pricing, and profitability.
ā¢ Negotiate new business quotes and renewals with producer partners leading to the binding of business
ā¢ Maintain underwriting files and prepare reports and presentations as required
ā¢ Act as a liaison between various departments including accounting, claims and loss control.
ā¢ Approve and issue endorsement requests per underwriting guidelines and service guidelines
ā¢ Work with other underwriters/departments to drive multi-line sales on individual accounts
Qualifications
ā¢ Minimum 5+ years of commercial package underwriting experience
ā¢ Experience with non-profit or social service business
ā¢ Strong knowledge of insurance rating, forms and coverages
ā¢ Ability to make timely decisions with appropriate information and consultation
ā¢ Proven track record of building strong business relationships with agents and insureds
ā¢ Demonstrated strong written and oral communication skills
ā¢ Ability to work both independently and within a team environment to drive results
