About the position

Wember Inc is seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager to join our team in Fort Collins, CO. This position is crucial for our continued growth in the public sector, where we manage multi-million dollar projects including schools, libraries, police stations, and fire stations. The Project Manager will oversee projects from initial planning through design and construction close-out, ensuring that all aspects of the project are executed efficiently and effectively. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in project management, particularly within the construction industry, and will be responsible for collaborating with various stakeholders including owners, architects, contractors, and consultants. In this role, you will be tasked with tracking master project budgets, assembling Requests for Proposals for design and construction, and procuring services from surveyors and other contractors. You will attend design and construction meetings, take minutes, and follow through on any issues that arise. Your responsibilities will also include reviewing and validating estimates, tracking design and construction issues, and managing change orders. Additionally, you will be responsible for monitoring construction quality, generating field reports, and tracking schedule-related issues. Monthly reports will be generated for ownership groups, and you will review initial pay applications and invoices for payment. The successful candidate will possess strong organizational skills, leadership abilities, and a sense of humor. You should be able to work autonomously as well as part of a team. A degree in Construction Management, Estimating, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related discipline is preferred, along with at least 10 years of experience in project management or owner's representation in the AEC industry. Familiarity with sustainable projects and LEED accreditation is a plus. Proficiency in software tools such as Bluebeam, MS Word, Excel, and Microsoft Project is also required.

Responsibilities
• Overseeing multi-million dollar public sector projects from initial planning through design to construction close-out.

• Tracking master project budgets and ensuring financial accountability.

• Assembling Requests for Proposals for design and construction and tracking their progress.

• Procuring services for surveyors, geotechnical, movers, and other contractors.

• Attending design and construction meetings, taking minutes, and following through on issues.

• Reviewing and validating estimates and change orders.

• Tracking design and construction issues and project goals, including sustainability.
,
• Managing permit tracking and regulating authority approval tracking.
,
• Assembling, tracking, and following through on purchase orders.
,
• Monitoring construction quality and generating field reports.
,
• Tracking schedule-related issues and generating monthly reports to ownership groups.
,
• Reviewing initial pay applications and invoices for payment.

Requirements
• Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Estimating, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related discipline (Preferred).

• 10+ years of construction experience (Preferred).
,
• 10+ years of project management experience (Preferred).
,
• Experience with public sector projects such as schools, libraries, police stations, and fire stations.
,
• Strong organizational skills and ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.

• Good driving record and reliable vehicle for attending meetings and construction sites.

• Leadership, business, and entrepreneurial skills.

• LEED Accreditation and experience on sustainable projects (Preferred).
