Overnight Porter
Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Porter to join our team at Assistant Living Facility. The Porter plays a crucial role in maintaining cleanliness and order within our facilities. This position involves various custodial tasks to ensure a safe and welcoming environment for residents, employees and visitors. The ideal candidate will have a porter experience, demonstrate a strong work ethic and attention to detail.
The position requires working overnight shifts, with mandatory weekend availability.
Duties
? Perform general cleaning duties including sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming floors to maintain a pristine appearance.
? Conduct routine inspections of the facility to identify areas needing attention or maintenance.
? Assist with custodial tasks such as emptying trash bins, sanitizing restrooms, and restocking supplies.
? Maintain outdoor areas by picking up litter and ensuring walkways are clear and safe.
? Collaborate with other team members to ensure all areas are clean, organized, and well-maintained.
? Clean and sanitize bathrooms in public areas and residents? rooms.
? Perform dusting duties throughout the facility.
? Clean windows and screens as needed.
? Clean dishes, cups, and silverware as required.
? Maintain the cleanliness of the smoke room.
? Ensure all common areas, including the lobby, chapel, dining room, and TV area, are kept clean.
? Clean and sanitize office spaces.
? Maintain the outside yard, including landscaping, debris removal, and snow removal as necessary.
? Collect and dispose of garbage from all areas.
? Respond to emergencies within the Housekeeping Department.
Skills
? Proven experience as a Porter or in a similar custodial role.
? Strong knowledge of floor care techniques.
? Familiarity with commercial cleaning practices and equipment.
? Ability to perform basic facilities maintenance tasks effectively.
? Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to cleanliness and safety.
? Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
? Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
? Good physical stamina to handle the demands of the job, including lifting and moving equipment when necessary.
