Outside Auto Appraiser - Plymouth County, MA
About the position
This position is responsible for inspecting, estimating, negotiating, and evaluating 1st and 3rd party auto physical damage claims, including personal and business insurance claims. The role involves working remotely within the Plymouth County, MA territory and requires effective communication and collaboration with claim professionals to ensure optimal claim resolution.
Responsibilities
Ā Deliver consistent service quality throughout the claim life cycle, including prompt contact and effective communication.

Ā Manage work assignments and travel to locations of vehicles or equipment as needed.

Ā Scope claims using technical expertise to determine physical claim value accurately.

Ā Prepare and document vehicle damage appraisals according to regulatory and corporate guidelines.

Ā Partner with assigned Claim Professionals throughout the claim process to ensure appropriate resolution.
,
Ā Negotiate claims with customers and repair facilities to achieve agreement on value and payments.
,
Ā Conduct damage management and manage the repair process when appropriate.
,
Ā Establish and maintain appropriate claim and expense reserves.
,
Ā Develop and update a plan of action for timely vehicle repairs and resolution.

Ā Communicate claim damage assessments and obtain authorization for payments.
Requirements
Ā High School Degree or GED with a minimum of one year auto appraisal experience required.
,
Ā Valid Driver's License.
,
Ā Associates Degree, Bachelors Degree or Technical School Degree preferred.
,
Ā State appraiser and claim handling licenses preferred.
,
Ā Two years of auto appraisal experience preferred; prior experience with insurance carrier preferred.

Ā Strong technical background in auto repair and repair techniques.
,
Ā Thorough knowledge of claims appraisal systems and overall claim operations.
,
Ā Windows proficiency, including Excel and Word.
,
Ā Strong mathematical and negotiation skills.
,
Ā Demonstrated ownership attitude and customer-centric response.
