As an Occupational Therapist or Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant, the priority is to work collaboratively to execute patient care and operational tasks effectively for the department with a positive mindset. Delivering occupational therapy services at off-site locations where needed. Contributing actively as a healthcare team member by performing designated tasks, assigned activities, and functions you have been educated on in adherence to Monument Health's regulations to meet patient needs.

Job Description

Essential Functions:
• Applies proper critical thinking and judgment in providing patient care. Executes all treatment strategies based on approved national, departmental, and evidence-based criteria. Delivers treatment that meets or exceeds departmental performance expectations.
• Documenting in a timely and accurate fashion to meet department standards for demonstrating medical necessity.
• Handles the necessary paperwork for billing, accurate charges, and approvals. Illustrates adept time management following departmental productivity norms.
• Demonstrates proactive behavior in individual career advancement. Successfully fulfills all necessary education requirements set by Monument Health and for licensure/certification in a timely manner. Actively advocates for the profession within Monument Health and in the broader community.
• Includes and educates the patient, family, and caregivers in treatment processes, goal setting, and discharge planning as required.
• Abides by the agreed-upon occupational therapy treatment plan and consults with the primary occupational therapist on any necessary adjustments or difficulties.
• Undertake any other duties as instructed.

Additional Requirements

Required:

Education - Bachelors: Occupational Therapy

Certification - Occupational Therapist (OT) - South Dakota Board of Medical and Osteopathic Examiners

Preferred:

Education - Masters: Occupational Therapy

Physical Requirements:

Very Heavy work - exerting over 25 pounds of force constantly (67-100% of the time), and/or more than 50 pounds frequently (34-66% of the time), and/or more than 100 pounds of force occasionally (up to 33% of the time), and/or more than 100 pounds of force seldomly to move objects. Possible exposure to blood, bodily fluids, or tissues. Requires the ability to work designated shift lengths (including 8 and 12 hours), which may include night shifts or occasional irregular hours.
