If you are a current University of Northern Iowa employee and would like to apply for this position, login to UNI Works and type “Find Jobs” in the search bar to view and apply for open positions.Full Consideration Date: 06/18/2025Job Description:Primary Function: This position with the Iowa Migratory Education Program (MEP) builds strong relationships with migratory families and serves as an intermediary between out-of-school youth (OSY), families, schools, and community resources; advocates for the educational rights and needs of migratory children and their families; coordinates with school districts, High School Equivalency Diploma (HSED) programs, and other educational entities that will empower OSY to continue their education, obtain a high school diploma or HSED, and pursue career readiness pathways; maintains accurate records of outreach efforts, including migratory children served and services provided; and participates in the ongoing work of the national MEP consortium, Innovative Strategies for Secondary and Out-of-School Youth (iSOSY).This position is eligible to be performed remotely within the state of Iowa. Employees who elect remote work must comply with the requirements of our remote work policy and agreement.Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in social services, counseling, education, communications or related field; strong attention to detail; digital proficiency in Google Suites, Microsoft Word and Excel, and video communication software such as Zoom; and strong written and verbal communication skills to engage with diverse populations and stakeholders effectively and professionally required. Experience working with children, families, and education; experience working with vulnerable populations; experience with data collection and reports; and bilingual proficiency preferred. Student experience will be considered.
