Operations Test Engineer
About the position
Responsibilities
• Provide early and ongoing manufacturing involvement to ensure new products are tested logically and cost-effectively.
• Incorporate FMEA and product design targets using the Engineering Requirements Specification (ERS).
• Work through all phases of a product from concept to production, providing production support engineering for complex testing methods and failure analysis.
• Lead the optimization of test solutions to enhance quality and operational efficiency in production.
• Design and develop technical test processes to improve quality and efficiency using statistical tools.
• Plan, develop, and implement procedures for testing and evaluating soon-to-be-released products.
• Compile data and make recommendations for test or tester design changes based on failure/data analysis.
• Develop new or improved processes through theoretical and practical engineering applications.
• Provide direction and mentorship to third-party vendors and automation suppliers.
• Drive failure analysis and machine issue resolution with tester suppliers and contract manufacturers.
• Prepare and present concise Test Engineering program status updates to the executive team.
Requirements
• 7+ years of work experience in assembly, inspection, test station design, test development, maintenance, or automation equipment.
• BS or MS degree in mechanical, electrical, or similar engineering discipline.
Nice-to-haves
• Experience working with cross-functional teams such as hardware design, system teams, and quality engineering.
• Knowledge of optical technologies and/or semiconductor testing.
• Understanding of tester qualification requirements including calibration, correlation, and design of experiments.
