Operational Programming Specialist - REMOTE
NEW OPS POSITION – JOB DESCRIPTION: REMOTEAllied Public Risk, a Managing General Underwriter (MGU) specializing in public entity property and casualty insurance, is seeking a highly analytical Operational Programming Specialist to support and enhance our operational infrastructure.This role will work closely with the Operations team to improve and maintain our agency management system, optimize underwriting workflows, support back-end system maintenance, develop reports, and manage data transfers across platforms. The ideal candidate combines strong technical programming skills with the ability to understand operational processes within an insurance environment.This is a remote position with cross-departmental influence and minimal public-facing responsibilities.Key ResponsibilitiesMaintain, enhance, and troubleshoot the company’s agency management system and related operational platformsSupport back-end system maintenance, integrations, and performance optimizationImprove and streamline underwriting and operational workflows through automation and programming solutionsDevelop, maintain, and optimize operational and management reportsAutomate accounting processes with parent, oversee non-automated accounting functions/collections, at timesManage data transfers between systems, including imports, exports, and integrationsCollaborate with Operations, Underwriting, IT, and leadership to identify process improvement opportunitiesProvide technical support for system functionality and operational toolsDocument system processes, workflows, and programming changesAssist the organization in leading AI (Artificial Intelligence) discussions/identifying cost and time saving initiatives associated with AI.Required QualificationsStrong coding/programming experience (languages/platforms relevant to system integration and automation)SQL experience required (other programming languages welcomed)Bachelor’s degree preferredProven ability to analyze complex operational processes and translate them into technical solutionsExperience working with databases, reporting tools, and data managementStrong problem-solving skills and attention to detailAbility to work independently in a remote environmentStrong Excel skills requiredPreferred QualificationsFamiliarity with Insurance Management Systems (IMS) or agency management systems in general, a plusExperience with Duck Creek, NetRate, and/or Vertafore underwriting programs, also a plusExperience in the property & casualty insurance industry, particularly public entity or specialty lines is not required, but also a plusExperience supporting underwriting or operational workflowsKnowledge of system integrations and data transfer methodologies/toolsReporting StructureReports to: Operations LeadershipNo direct reportsWork EnvironmentFully remoteAnalytical, technical roleCross-department collaboration, strong problem solving capabilities with an emphasis on workflow efficiencyCarrier (external) / Production (internal) interactions foreseenMinimal to no travelMinimal public-facing responsibilitiesSalary Range: 65,000-85,000 USD/Per Year
