About the Role As an Online Visiting Professor for Marketing at DeVry University, you will play a vital role in facilitating student learning and delivering high-quality educational courses and programs in marketing. You will develop course syllabi and lesson plans, apply effective teaching techniques, and engage students through online technologies and course-related software. Your expertise and passion for marketing will inspire and motivate students to achieve their academic and professional goals. Key Responsibilities Develop and provide students with an approved DeVry University syllabus that follows a template established by the local campus, and which includes the terminal course objectives. Organize, prepare, and regularly revise and update all course materials to ensure relevance and accuracy. Utilize appropriate technological options for online technologies and course-related software, including Websites, e-mail, and online discussions, to prepare the course and make it accessible to students. Model effective oral and written communications that engage students, provide clarity, and improve student learning. Set clear expectations for the course by publishing course terminal objectives, assignment/examination dates, and weight distribution of various evaluation categories. Ensure that the content and level of material included on exams correspond to the course terminal objectives. Demonstrate consistency and fairness in the preparation and grading of exams and provide timely feedback to students. Complete other duties as assigned by the university. Qualifications and Requirements To be successful in this role, you must possess a Master's degree in Marketing or a related field, with a Doctoral degree preferred. You should have 18 graduate hours in the subject being taught for undergraduate teaching, and your credentials must be awarded by an institution accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education or the Council for Higher Education Administration, or by an international institution determined to hold equivalent accreditation. In addition to your academic qualifications, you should have: Requisite subject matter expertise in marketing, with a deep understanding of the industry and its trends. Outstanding communication skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students in a diverse and non-traditional environment. Excellent instructional skills, with the ability to facilitate student learning and promote academic achievement. The ability to work in a collegial manner and facilitate the efforts of diverse groups. What We Offer As an Online Visiting Professor for Marketing at DeVry University, you will enjoy a competitive compensation package, including: A pay rate of $1500-$2600 per 8-week session, or an hourly rate of $20.00/hour or $21.50/hour in certain states.
