About the Role: Online Adjunct Instructor - English Composition We're seeking a highly skilled and passionate Online Adjunct Instructor - English Composition to join our team of educators. As an Online Adjunct Instructor, you will play a vital role in guiding students through the writing process, helping them develop their critical thinking, writing, and communication skills. Key Responsibilities: Teach online courses in English Composition, fostering a dynamic and engaging learning environment that promotes student success. Communicate effectively with students through regular feedback, phone, email, and virtual meetings, providing academic support and guidance as needed. Develop and implement curriculum and assessments that align with course objectives and outcomes. Utilize effective teaching strategies and technologies to create an interactive and inclusive online classroom. Participate in faculty meetings, committee work, and other University events as required. Complete professional development requirements, including a minimum of 6 Rasmussen Educational Units (REUs) annually. Essential Qualifications: Master's degree in English, Creative Writing, or Master's of Fine Arts with a writing emphasis from an accredited institution. Minimum of 3 years of teaching experience in the field of English Composition or a related field. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with students, faculty, and staff. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in the English language. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team. Regular access to a computer with the required system specifications (Windows XP or greater, Microsoft Office 2010, and a reliable internet connection). Preferred Qualifications: Experience teaching online or in a related field. Familiarity with competency-based education and Rasmussen University's mission and values. Knowledge of current trends and best practices in teaching English Composition.
