Your expertise will directly impact cancer care outcomes for veterans across the nation.You'll be at the forefront of healthcare transformation, leveraging your specialized skills to:Drive data-informed decision making that shapes veteran cancer care.Implement cutting-edge approaches to data systems management.Collaborate with stakeholders across the healthcare ecosystem.Showcase your expertise through high-visibility reporting and analysis.Key Responsibility HighlightsStrategic Data Leadership: Create impactful monthly, quarterly, and annual reports that inform critical healthcare decisions.System Excellence: Optimize databases and records management for maximum efficiency and accuracy.Process Innovation: Develop and implement new methodologies to revolutionize data collection, processing, and distribution.Quality Assurance: Ensure the highest level of data integrity for sophisticated analytical applications.Why Choose CVP?Work with purpose in a role that genuinely improves healthcare outcomes.Enjoy the freedom of remote work without sacrificing meaningful connection.Join a forward-thinking team committed to innovation in healthcare.Improve your financial wealth with productivity-based bonus incentives.Schedule: Part-time W2 (20 hours/week) with flexible work-life balance.Location: 100% Remote – work from anywhere!ResponsibilitiesConduct records maintenance, including submission of complete case abstract.Conduct timely case ascertainment and accession to VHA approved software.Conduct data curation and abstraction into VHA approved cancer registry database software.Meet reporting requirements of State Central Cancer Registry, the American College of Surgeon's Commission on Cancer, and the VA Central Cancer Registry.Maintain CTR credentials through the National Cancer Registrar's Association (NCRA).Provide evidence of monthly continuing education conducted by national standard setters, including but not limited to North American Association of Central Cancer Registries (NAACCR), NCRA, SEER.Maintain patient and records confidentiality in accordance with the Privacy Act of 1974, complying with the terms of VA computer access security agreement, and other applicable government security regulations.Provide reports at the request of participating facilities to aid the organization with Quality Improvement/Process Improvement activities as applicable.Complete applicable “physician TNM staging” fields at the time of case ascertainment and/or case completion.Comply with all guidelines governing the accepted standard of registry operations, to include the Commission on Cancer, AJCC, National Cancer Institute's Surveillance, Epidemiology and End Results Program, NAACCR, World Health Organization's International Classification of Diseases for Oncology, and current and historic editions as applicable to diagnosis year.QualificationsMust be eligible to obtain a Public Trust government security clearance.Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.Five (5) years or more of relevant professional experience with hospital cancer registry.A strong dedication to high quality work and integrity of data.Certified Tumor Registrar (CTR) credentials.Strong analytical skills, and excellent oral and written communication skills.Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team.Proficient with MS Office.
