Oil and Gas Accounts Payable Clerk

Armstrong, Backus & Co., LLP is seeking a candidate who wants to experience the personal challenge of working for a regional leader in the accounting industry. In our Oil and Gas Accounting Solutions department, you will manage the accounting and finance role for multiple client accounts. This position requires a person who is self-driven, results-oriented with a positive outlook and a clear focus on high quality and client service. The ideal candidate is a quick and willing learner, seeking to expand their knowledge and experience in the growing energy sector.

Responsibilities and Duties
• Manage multiple clients’ specific needs leveraging a proactive process
• Perform monthly revenue processing and Joint Interest Billing accounting
• Receiving and processing invoices
• Prepare and process vendor payments
• Maintaining good account standing and accurate client historical records
• Maintain General Ledger and sub-ledgers and related account reconciliations
• Prepare and coordinate all client mailings including matching all client documenting information
• Prepare and process payroll
• Other administrative duties, as assigned

Qualifications: Oil and gas specific accounting is beneficial. A high school diploma or equivalent is required for this position.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, Particularly in Excel, and Outlook
• Familiar with oil and gas accounting systems, including Wolfepak
• Ability to effectively manage time and prioritize projects to meet established deadlines
• Detail-oriented and self-motivated with superior client service skills
• Strong organizational skills and demonstrates ability to maintain accuracy
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships across all levels of the firm
• Capable of working independently in a team environment
