Of-Counsel Probate and Adult Guardianship Attorney

We serve clients throughout the greater Chicago metropolitan area and operate on a flat-fee billing model that prioritizes transparency and client trust. We are growing our team to meet increasing demand. Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Illinois-licensed attorney to join our firm in an Of Counsel capacity, focusing on probate administration and adult guardianship matters. This is a fully remote, flexible-schedule position with a performance-based compensation structure. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated attorney who is comfortable working independently, engaging directly with clients, and leveraging technology to manage matters efficiently. Responsibilities • Handle probate administration matters from opening to closing, including supervised and independent administrations • Represent clients in adult guardianship proceedings, including petitions for guardianship of the person and/or estate • Conduct initial consultations with prospective clients and convert consultations into retained matters • Appear in court in-person for hearings, status calls, and other proceedings as required across the firm's service counties • Attend Zoom and video hearings as required • Participate in occasional in-person client meetings as needed • Manage matter progress, deadlines, and client communication through the firm's technology systems • Maintain compliance with all Illinois Rules of Professional Conduct Qualifications • Active Illinois law license in good standing (required) • Meaningful experience handling Illinois probate matters, including court appearances • Experience with adult guardianship proceedings strongly preferred • Strong client-facing communication skills and ability to conduct consultations independently • Comfort working in a fully remote, tech-enabled environment • Proficiency with cloud-based tools, document management systems, and video conferencing platforms • Ability to manage multiple concurrent matters with minimal supervision • Reliable transportation and ability to appear in-person across Cook, DuPage, Kane, Lake, and Will Counties as needed • Compensation This is a performance-based Of Counsel arrangement. Compensation is one-third (1/3) of the fee collected per matter, net of any direct case expenses. There is no cap on earnings — your compensation grows directly with your caseload and rewards efficient, high-quality work. There is no expectation to bring in your own cases. However, you will receive 50% of the matter fee for any cases you directly refer to the firm.
