Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Ā Coordinates all AHS nursing operations to ensure quality care for patients.
Ā Performs professional- and managerial-level administrative tasks to plan and achieve departmental short-term goals and objectives. Troubleshoots routine and special situations and follows through to resolution.
Ā Interviews, selects, trains, or ensures training of AHS nursing staff.
Ā Evaluates personnel performance.
Ā Initiates performance counseling and disciplinary actions.
Ā Provides guidance and support to employees in the performance of their duties.
Ā Reviews, recommends, and implements policy and procedure changes in clinic to improve efficiency and enhance customer service. Helps establish and maintain clinical and support service referral networks.
Ā Oversees clinical documentation.
Ā Ensures compliance with any or all applicable laws, Civil Service Rules, statutes, and regulations. Updates staff on applicable changes. Helps ensure compliance with medical protocols and administrative policies and procedures. Facilitates activities to achieve grant deliverables.
Ā Provides input for federal and state grant applications.
Ā Performs direct client assessments and clinical support activities as necessary.
Ā Performs all other related duties involved in the operation of the Public Health Department as assigned or required.
Minimum Requirements
NOTE: YOU MUST FILL OUT THE WORK HISTORY and EDUCATION SECTIONS OF APPLICATION TO SHOW YOU HAVE YEARS OF EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION AS REQUIRED BY HIRING DEPARTMENT OR BE DISQUALIFIED.
Ā TO APPLY, must have a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing (BSN) or higher education. Master's degree in nursing science, health care administration, public administration, business administration, or a related area is preferred.
Ā TO APPLY, must have Four (4) full-time years of nursing experience.
Ā TO APPLY, must have Three (3) full-time years of supervisory experience, having been responsible for the work output and performance evaluation of subordinates and including One (1) year of nursing supervisory experience.
Ā TO APPLY, must have a Current Texas or multistate compact (including Texas) RN license.
TO APPLY, must have Texas RN license required within ninety (90) days of hire.
MUST PROVIDE LICENSING AGENCY AND LICENSE NUMBER IN "CERTIFICATES AND LICENSING" SECTION OF THE APPLICATION OR BE DISQUALIFIED.
Ā Clinic management experience and experience working with STDs preferred.
Ā Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal relationship skills.
Ā Knowledge of physical assessment.
Ā Basic understanding of electronic health records and MS Office products.
If hired, must provide proof of educational attainment
at New Hire Processing or during the promotional process.
Tarrant County will conduct background checks on new hires that will include a criminal background check related to convictions and deferred adjudications in the past seven years and may include credit reports, motor vehicle records, employment records and educational attainment. A conviction or deferred adjudication is not an automatic bar to employment. Each case is considered individually.
Physical Demands and Work Environment & Other Requirements
While performing the duties of this position, the incumbent is regularly required to bend, carry, climb stairs, grasp/squeeze, use hand tools, hear, keyboard, kneel, lift below the waist, lift between waist and shoulder, lift overhead, lift to the side/twist, tolerate noise, pull, push, reach, reach overhead, perform repetitive tasks, see color, see far and near, sit, squat, stand, stoop, talk, twist, use his/her hands, drive a vehicle, walk, and work alone and with others. Exposure to active infectious diseases and body fluids. Possible needlesticks and restraint of children.
Regular attendance is essential. Incumbent must arrive at work on time, prepared to perform assigned duties and work assigned schedule. Incumbent must have the ability to work well with others. Incumbent must be able to perform the essential functions of the position without posing a direct threat to the health and safety of themselves and others.
