About the position
The Nursing Assistant position at Michigan Medicine involves providing direct patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse or designated supervisor. You will also be involved in maintaining accurate patient records and adhering to all safety and health regulations. This position is temporary, and candidates should be prepared for a flexible work schedule that may include varying shifts. Responsibilities
• Provide direct patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse.

• Set up and monitor specialized clinical equipment.

• Perform delegated clinical or laboratory procedures as assigned.

• Assist in wound care and change dressings as needed.

• Support patients with their activities of daily living (ADLs).
Requirements
• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent is required.

• A minimum of 6 months recent experience in a patient care setting or junior status in an accredited BSN program or second year in an accredited ADN program is required.

• Ability to read and write is required.
,
• Certification as a Nurse Aide or Medical Assistant is desired.
,
• Recent experience in an acute care inpatient setting is preferred.

• Basic computer skills are desired.
,
• Time management skills and flexibility in scheduling are necessary.
