Nurse Manager - Labor, Postpartum and Newborn Care

Job Description

The Nurse Manager of Labor, Postpartum and Newborn Care (LPNBC) at Saint Luke's East Hospital (SLEH) assumes accountability for the overall planning, coordination, and delivery of Obstetric and Newborn Services within the assigned departments. This includes oversight of the Lactation team as well.

The Nurse Manager is responsible for utilizing and modeling the Saint Luke's values of kindness, respect, excellence, safety and teamwork. The Nurse Manager is responsible for the quality and safe delivery of care as well as outcome metrics related to patient experience within the assigned departments. The Nurse Manager is responsible for stewardship of resources (staffing, space, equipment, and supplies) for the assigned departments, including cost center budget management.

The Nurse Manager reports to the Director of Patient Care Services over Obstetric and Neonatal Care (OBNS). SLEH is supported by a team of Managers who works collaboratively with this role, to ensure consistency and equity of processes and resources among the similar units within the scope of Patient Care Services.

Working collaboratively with the Medical Staff, the Nurse Manager also assumes a leadership role in supporting the mission, vision and strategic direction of the entity, system and enterprise.

This role manages the following departments: Labor and Delivery, Postpartum and Newborn Care, and Lactation. This role also has a matrixed relationship with other system roles.

A strong candidate would possess excellent leadership skills, previous obstetric management experience, the ability to assess opportunities and to propose innovative solutions, independently and be a change agent.

Applicable Experience:

Registered Nurse (MO) - National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NURSYS)

Bachelor's Degree - Science in Nursing
