Key Responsibilities
Ā Deliver in-person care to patients with implanted cardiac devices (CIEDs), including interrogation, evaluation, and programming for various manufacturers like Medtronic, Abbott, Boston Scientific, and Biotronik.
Ā Identify and address CIED abnormalities, facilitating follow-up care as necessary.
Ā Educate patients and their families on post-implant care, device functions, remote monitoring, and essential follow-up procedures.
Ā Collaborate closely with the healthcare team to ensure coordination of care and timely service for CIED patients.
Ā Act as a knowledgeable resource for device and arrhythmia management for staff members across various departments.
Ā Complete comprehensive documentation for CIED assessments, arrhythmia management, and billing purposes under the oversight of the attending physician.
Ā Monitor and review CIED remote transmissions and trans-telephonic alerts, adhering to manufacturer advisories and guidelines.
Ā Participate in continuing education and provide cross-coverage within the CIED department for satellite facilities.
Required Skills
Ā Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in New Mexico.
Ā BLS and ACLS certifications.
Ā A strong foundation in cardiology is highly valued.
Ā Familiarity with CIED management or completion of a recognized CIED program (e.g., ATI or PrepMD).
Ā Preferred: International Board of Heart Rhythm Examiners (IBHRE) certification and LS Certification at time of hire.
Qualifications
Ā An Associate's degree in Nursing is required.
Ā 1-2 years of experience in critical care, interventional cardiology/electrophysiology lab, or cardiac step-down unit is essential, with 2 years preferred.
Ā A Bachelor's degree in Nursing is preferred.
