Job Highlights Competitive Compensation: $18.75 per hour, plus shift differential Immediate Start: Openings available immediately Full-time Opportunity: 40 hours per week, year-round Flexible Scheduling: Tuesday through Thursday, 6:00pm to 2:30am; Friday and Saturday, 7:00pm to 3:30am (subject to change) Opportunities for Growth: Professional development and career advancement opportunities Key Responsibilities As a Night Shift Custodian, you will be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and maintenance of designated areas on campus. Your duties will include: General cleaning throughout designated areas, including offices, classrooms, and common spaces Light maintenance work, such as replacing light bulbs and reporting maintenance issues Snow shoveling in the winter and bed making in the summer conference season Operating cleaning equipment and sanitizing dispensing units Lifting and carrying heavy objects up to 50 pounds independently and up to 75 pounds with assistance Utilizing wearable equipment and complying with safety rules and regulations Providing excellent customer service and communicating effectively with colleagues and supervisors Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need: A valid driver's license in good standing (employment is contingent upon successful completion of a Motor Vehicle Records check) The ability to work independently and as a member of a team Good communication and customer service skills Basic knowledge of computers and ability to comply with standing instructions Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays Physical ability to lift and carry heavy objects and work in a fast-paced environment Preferred Qualifications While not required, the following qualifications are highly desirable: Experience in general cleaning, maintenance, carpet and floor care Knowledge of safety data sheets, safety rules, and regulations Previous experience working in a custodial or maintenance role What We Offer At Williams College, we are committed to providing a supportive and inclusive work environment that fosters professional growth and development.
