New Worlds Reading Family and Community Engagement Specialist

About the position

Responsibilities
• Collaborate with community organizations and school districts to organize and participate in events promoting the New Worlds Reading Initiative.
• Support team members in facilitating face-to-face and virtual professional development learning experiences.
• Conduct project meetings and communicate project status with customers, project team members, vendors, and supervisors.
• Assist the Engagement manager with project plans, including family engagement events, timelines, and milestones.
• Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations.
• Recruit and enroll participants for programs and events.
• Provide administrative and logistical support for program activities, including event planning and coordination.
• Locate and set up venues for family literacy events, caregiver workshops, and meetings.
• Troubleshoot challenges and coordinate with project staff to ensure effective communication and implementation support.
• Execute implementation components within the project budget, including travel and materials.
• Engage in workgroups and project design as necessary.
• Distribute and collect documentation from participants for project evaluation.
• Participate in program development and evaluation, updating databases and conducting queries for reports.
• Conduct post-project assessments and evaluations.

Requirements
• Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience in family engagement efforts.
• Proficient in a broad range of collaboration and project management software (e.g., Teams, Zoom, Google Docs, Dropbox, ClickUp).
• Strong relational, organizational, and communication skills.

Nice-to-haves
• Experience in educational program development and evaluation.
• Familiarity with literacy initiatives and community engagement strategies.
