Neurodiagnostics Registered Tech - Nights
**Overview:**
As a Neurodiagnostics Registered Tech - Nights, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality neurodiagnostic procedures to patients of all ages at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. This is a full-time position working evening and night shifts, with every other weekend. **Responsibilities:**
ā¢ Performs various neurodiagnostic procedures to patients of all ages, ensuring quality studies
ā¢ Assists in establishing recording criteria for various technical procedures using guidelines prepared by the American Society of EEG Technologists and recommendations of equipment manufacturers
ā¢ Coordinates laboratory schedule and assigns priorities according to workload and clinical urgency
ā¢ Provides instruction in diagnostic procedures to medical residents and other healthcare professionals as requested
ā¢ Assists in the department's performance improvement program
ā¢ Explains testing procedures to patients and families, accurately takes and documents patient history, and sets up patients for studies
ā¢ Performs routine studies in outpatient and inpatient settings, including long-term video monitoring
ā¢ Processes individual charges for studies and recognizes and responds to evolving patient care needs
ā¢ Demonstrates proper cleaning and disinfection procedures for patients, rooms, and equipment
ā¢ *Qualifications:**
ā¢ Associates Degree or graduation from a Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) accredited Neurodiagnostic Program
ā¢ Prior experience as an EEG Technologist highly desirable
ā¢ Ability to satisfactorily complete and maintain competencies
ā¢ Has been in Neurodiagnostics field for minimum of 3 years
ā¢ Must have and maintain Registry (R. EEGT)
ā¢ AHA BLS-HCP & PALS required or must obtain within 6 months of hire
ā¢ Strong written and verbal communication skills, excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills, and aptitude for detailed record keeping
