Network Engineer 100% Remote β Must be US Citizen due to Public Trust Clearance
Overview Join our dynamic team as a Network Engineer and play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and securing cloud-based network architectures. This fully remote position offers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge cloud technologies and security tools, empowering government agencies and organizations. Due to the nature of the work involving sensitive information, applicants must be US citizens and able to obtain a Public Trust clearance. This role is critical to delivering secure, scalable, and resilient connectivity across hybrid and multi-cloud environments while collaborating closely with cloud, cybersecurity, and program leadership teams. Role: As a Network Engineer, you will design, implement, and secure cloud-based network architectures, leveraging hands-on expertise with F5 and Versa Networks SD-WAN and security solutions. Responsibilities: β’ Design, implement, and maintain secure cloud network architectures in AWS, Azure, and hybrid environments. β’ Integrate cloud networks with on-premises DoD infrastructure using VPNs, Direct Connect, ExpressRoute, and SD-WAN. β’ Implement network segmentation, Zero Trust principles, and policy-based access controls. β’ Automate network provisioning using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform and Ansible. β’ Monitor network performance and troubleshoot connectivity issues using tools like CloudWatch, Azure Monitor, and packet capture utilities. β’ Ensure compliance with DoD cybersecurity frameworks including DISA STIGs, NIST 800-53, and RMF. β’ Collaborate with cybersecurity, cloud engineering, and application teams to support secure mission delivery. β’ Maintain detailed network documentation, diagrams, and standard operating procedures. β’ Promote continuous improvement through feedback loops and process refinement. β’ Ensure alignment with customer mission priorities and Leidos delivery standards. Qualifications β’ Bachelorβs degree in a related field (e.g., Computer Science, Information Systems, Business) β’ 6+ years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps, or Cloud Infrastructure roles. β’ Hands-on experience with Versa Networks SD-WAN and security platforms. β’ Experience configuring and managing F5 BIG-IP LTM, GTM, and ASM modules. β’ Proficiency in AWS and/or Azure networking services (VPCs, VNets, Transit Gateway, NSGs, Route Tables). β’ Strong understanding of TCP/IP, BGP, DNS, NAT, and VPN technologies. β’ Familiarity with Zero Trust Architecture and DoD cloud security requirements. β’ Scripting and automation experience (Python, Bash, PowerShell). β’ Excellent facilitation, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills. β’ Ability to work in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment. β’ Certifications such as Versa Certified SD-WAN Engineer, F5-CTS, AWS Advanced Networking, or Azure Network Engineer Associate. β’ Must be a U.S. Citizen and able to obtain a Public Trust. Preferred Qualifications β’ Knowledge of ICAM integration and cross-domain solutions β’ Prior experience supporting other federal cloud modernization efforts β’ Strong documentation, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills β’ Experience working with technical teams in cloud, cybersecurity, or enterprise IT environments.
