Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Netcool Developer with strong expertise in IBM Netcool Operations Insight (NOI) and IBM Cloud Pak for AIOps. The ideal candidate will be responsible for integrating, migrating, and modernizing traditional Netcool environments into a Cloud Pak for AIOps ecosystem while ensuring seamless hybrid-cloud operations.
This role involves working closely with DevOps, SRE, and operations teams to build intelligent monitoring solutions, enable automation, and support AI-driven event management.
Key Responsibilities1️⃣ Netcool to Cloud Pak Migration
• Integrate and migrate IBM Netcool Operations Insight (NOI) environments to IBM Cloud Pak for AIOps.
• Connect on-prem Netcool/OMNIbus and Netcool/Impact systems with Cloud Pak using native connectors.
• Ensure smooth transition of monitoring capabilities into the AIOps platform.
2️⃣ Event Management & Synchronization
• Enable bidirectional synchronization of event data between Netcool and Cloud Pak for AIOps.
• Configure event and alert mapping rules for consistent processing.
• Implement event transformation rules using JSONata.
3️⃣ Automation & Runbook Development
• Develop and manage automation policies using:
• Netcool/Impact
• Python
• Bash scripting
• Migrate legacy automation policies and runbooks into the AIOps platform.
4️⃣ AIOps Data & ML Support
• Support machine learning models by providing high-quality operational data.
• Enable capabilities such as:
• Event grouping
• Log anomaly detection
• Metric anomaly detection
• Change risk assessment
5️⃣ Topology & Infrastructure Visibility
• Leverage Cloud Pak for AIOps topology and resource management features.
• Build application-centric infrastructure views to improve observability.
6️⃣ Integrations with Enterprise Tools
• Integrate monitoring and incident workflows with third-party tools such as:
• Splunk
• ServiceNow
• Slack
• Other DevOps and ITSM tools.
7️⃣ Troubleshooting & Operations
• Diagnose and resolve complex hybrid-cloud operational issues.
• Ensure high reliability and performance of monitoring environments.
Required Skills
• Deep expertise in IBM Netcool suite including:
• Netcool/OMNIbus
• Netcool/Impact
• Netcool probes and gateways
• Netcool Web GUI
• Strong experience with IBM Cloud Pak for AIOps.
• Experience with event management and automation frameworks.
• Experience implementing JSONata event transformations.
• Strong scripting experience using Python or Bash.
• Experience working in hybrid cloud environments.
Preferred Skills
• Experience with observability and monitoring platforms.
• Integration with tools like:
