The primary responsibility of the Software Engineer is to develop software solutions in accordance with assigned projects and sprint goals. The Software Engineer works closely with the Technical Manager and Project Manager/Scrum Master on backlog grooming and user story refinement. The role requires a strong understanding of the complete software development life cycle and a demonstrated ability to work independently.

Primary Responsibilities:

Complete programming and system analysis tasks assigned by the Technical Manager.

Review requirements and design documents to ensure project deliverables are met.

Identify, communicate, and mitigate risks or issues related to project deliverables.

Actively seek opportunities to take ownership and accountability for applications and products.

Recommend technical solutions for issues encountered during project execution.

Provide user support for business applications as needed.

Communicate effectively with users to answer questions and resolve urgent requests.

Advise the Technical Manager on information technology matters.

Foster a continuous improvement mindset and encourage professional growth within the team.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.

3–5+ years of IT experience in software development.

Experience in system design and building secure, distributed applications, with proven analysis, design, and programming expertise.

Prior experience in healthcare, particularly with claims adjudication systems, is preferred.

Experience in project management is a plus.

Strong technical expertise in Microsoft .NET and related technologies, with the ability to understand and manipulate database structures.

The Software Engineer must possess strong written and verbal communication skills and a solid understanding of object-oriented programming and distributed system architecture. Required technical experience includes .NET, C#, ASP.NET, JavaScript, TypeScript, CSS3, HTML5, AngularJS, Angular, React, modern web development frameworks, web services, Web APIs, RESTful services, microservices, API security best practices, Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA), Enterprise Service Bus (ESB), NHibernate, Dapper, Entity Framework, Windows Services development, and creating stored procedures, database views, triggers, and indexes. Familiarity with DevOps concepts and modern CI/CD practices is also required.

Strongly Desired Technical Skills:

Ability to leverage AI in day-to-day engineering practices.

Knowledge of .NET Framework 3.5–4.8, .NET Core, and .NET 5+.

Strong understanding of SOLID principles and enterprise design patterns.

Experience with event-driven architecture and designing distributed systems.

NUnit and Test-Driven Development (TDD).

IIS, SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), and SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS).

Agile development experience using Scrum.

XML, XSLT, and PowerShell.
