Job Title: Paraprofessional with ASL Skills
Location: Atlanta, GA 30339 Area Schools
Pay: Starting at $24/Hour
Type: Contract, On-Site, Flexible Hours (As Needed)
Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Paraprofessional with American Sign Language (ASL) proficiency to join our team in Atlanta, GA area schools. This role supports students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing, ensuring they have equal access to the learning environment and school activities.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide direct classroom support to students using ASL for communication.
• Assist teachers in delivering lessons, adapting materials, and facilitating participation.
• Support individual and small-group instruction.
• Promote an inclusive learning environment for students with diverse needs.
• Collaborate with teachers, interpreters, and support staff to ensure student success.
• Monitor and document student progress as directed.
Requirements:
• High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s degree or higher preferred).
• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) required.
• Passing score on the Georgia Assessments for the Certification of Educators (GACE) Paraprofessional Assessment.
• Experience working with students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing preferred.
• Strong communication, patience, and teamwork skills.
• Ability to follow directions and adapt to changing classroom needs.
Schedule:
