De Pere Youth Dance Program offers a variety of dance classes such as tap, ballet, jazz, hip hop, lyrical and contemporary for youth ages 3-14. Classes consist of 2 types of dance genres listed.
Instruct beginner to intermediate/advanced dance classes to youth ages 3 - 14. Qualified candidates must have a dance background, be able to relate and work with children and interact with adults, develop choreography, select music, and have experience with dance rehearsals/recitals and costume ordering. Participants perform 2 routines at the season-ending recital.
Typical Work Schedule:
**3 classes per evening** (Instructors may choose 1 or more evenings based on availability)
Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday evenings, 4:30-7:30pm
Classes held at De Pere High School, 1700 Chicago St, and at the De Pere Community Center, 600 Grant St., De Pere, WI 54115
Essential Functions
Choreograph 2 routines appropriate to age group
Assist with choosing costumes and preparations for recital performances
Communicate with parents and maintain good PR with staff and public
Identify and respond to participant behavior issues; document if necessary
Maintain appropriate safety measures for program participants
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Applicant should have knowledge of dance terminology
Possess the ability to perform dance skills
Choreograph dance routines and progressively teach a specified age group
Be energetic, enthusiastic, resourceful, and creative
Possess the ability to work well with children and communicate effectively
Minimum Requirements & Physical Requirements
At least 16 years of age.
Formal education not required
Dance experience a must
Previous teaching experience and experience working with children a plus
Expected salary: $17 - 18 per hour
