What You’ll D
oAs a Navy Reserve Chaplain Candidate, you will serve as an Unrestricted Line Officer under instruction while completing your graduate theological education. This program introduces you to Professional Naval Chaplaincy (PNC) and prepares you for future service as a Navy Chaplain, supporting Sailors, Marines, and their families through ministry, counseling, and ethical leadership
.
Requirement
s• U.S. citize
n• Age 21–37 at time of commissioning (waivers considered
)• Currently enrolled full-time in a graduate-level theological or religious studies progra
m• Maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or highe
r• Obtain an approved Ecclesiastical Endorsement (DD Form 2088) from a recognized Religious Endorsing Agen
t• Submit curriculum plan and official transcripts showing degree completion pat
h• Meet Navy commissioning physical standard
s• No disqualifying legal or academic misconduct issue
s
⚓ Training Pipelin
e• Commissioned as an Ensign (Designator 1945) in the Inactive Navy Reserve while completing studie
s• Attend Officer Development School within 1 year of commissionin
g• Complete PNC Basic Leadership Course at the Naval Chaplaincy School within 24 month
s• Participate in Active Duty Training (ADT) and on-the-job ministry experience
s
