Job Overview
In this role, you'll be responsible for assisting licensed pharmacists in the preparation of prescriptions and other health-related products. You'll achieve customer satisfaction by promptly processing and filling prescriptions accurately and timely through the data entry of all assigned tasks. As a Pharmacy Data Entry Technician, you'll refer any questions regarding prescriptions, drug information, or health matters to a pharmacist and maintain the policies and procedures of our SelectRx Pharmacy Division.
Key Responsibilities
Enter and process medication orders into the pharmacy operating system
Process and enter prescriptions accurately and in a timely manner
Perform medication history interviews, food-drug interaction counseling, and process prescriptions following all prescription error prevention procedures
Maintain patient records with a strong attention to detail and verify the accuracy of patient and prescription information
Refer prescriptions questions to Pharmacist/Supervisor and understand and maintain confidentiality regarding patient medications and illnesses
Requirements
Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) license required
Must be a fully licensed technician in the State of Indiana
Ability to read prescriptions, SIG codes, and document information on prescriptions, third-party forms, and communication forms
Strong organizational and interpersonal communication skills
Ability to effectively interact with all levels of management, associates, clients, and the public
