n8n Automation Developer – Build AI-Powered Business Workflow Agent (Ongoing Work) - Contract to Hire
I am looking for an experienced n8n automation developer to build and maintain an automation “agent” for local service businesses (dentists, chiropractors, real estate, contractors, etc.). This agent will handle tasks such as: • Lead intake • Appointment scheduling • Follow-up messages • CRM updates • Email/SMS automation • AI-assisted responses (OpenAI API, Claude API, etc.) Your job is to help architect, build, test, and optimize automated workflows that businesses can plug into immediately. This will be a long-term role with recurring work as I onboard more clients. ⸻ Responsibilities • Build complete n8n workflows tailored for service businesses • Connect to APIs (CRMs, Google Calendar, Stripe, Twilio, etc.) • Integrate AI models for automated replies, summarization, and routing • Create reusable workflow templates for multiple businesses • Troubleshoot errors, improve reliability, and optimize speed • Provide documentation so workflows can be reused easily • Optional: Assist with Zapier/Make migration to n8n ⸻ Requirements • Expert-level experience with n8n (flows, triggers, nodes, error handling) • Strong understanding of API integrations • Experience with Twilio, Gmail API, Google Calendar API, or similar tools • Familiarity with OpenAI / Claude API for AI steps • Ability to build automations that run fast, stable, and scalable • Strong communication and ability to think through business workflow logic Bonus Skills: • DevOps or server setup for self-hosted n8n • Knowledge of CRM systems (GoHighLevel, HubSpot, Pipedrive) • Experience building automations for local service businesses ⸻ What to Include in Your Application 1.
