Job Summary

Join us in our mission to provide high-quality instruction within a small, supportive school environment. As a member of our team, you'll contribute to our goal of ensuring every student in California has access to an exceptional education. Your role will involve fostering a culture of high expectations, developing engaging lesson plans aligned with standards, assessing student progress, collaborating with colleagues, and maintaining strong communication with students and families.

Essential Functions

Cultivate a culture of high expectations, emphasizing college attendance for all students.

Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with California State Standards and our instructional guidelines.

Assess student progress regularly and adjust instruction accordingly.

Collaborate with colleagues to enhance instructional practices and share best practices.

Communicate consistently with students and families regarding classroom activities and progress.

Engage parents and guardians as partners in their students' education.

Manage student behavior to ensure a conducive learning environment.

Participate actively in professional development activities and collaborate with lead teachers and instructional coaches.

Maintain accurate student records, including attendance.

Identify and address unique student needs in collaboration with team members.

Uphold the mission, vision, and core values of our organization.

Additional Responsibilities

Qualifications

Competencies:

Understanding of child cognitive development and various learning styles.

Proficiency in subject matter and assessments.

Willingness to implement instructional guidelines and best practices.

Ability to analyze student data and reflect on instructional practices.

Strong collaboration skills with colleagues, parents, and the community.

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor's Degree.

K-8 Single Subject: Music Credential preferred; 9-12 Single Subject: Music required.

English Language Learner Authorization required for 9-12.

NCLB Highly Qualified required for K-12.

Experience

1 year working with students as a teacher, teacher intern, or teaching assistant preferred.

Physical Requirements

Ability to move in various positions and environments.

Capability to remain stationary or move about to accomplish tasks.

Proficiency in communication and fine motor skills.

Work Authorization Requirements

Department of Justice background screening clearance.

Authorization to work in the United States.

Provide health (TB) clearance renewed every four years.

Work Environment

Combination of indoor office, computer lab, and classroom settings.

Exposure to typical school environment elements.

Flexibility to work outside typical hours and occasional travel to school sites.
