Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Multi Coding Specialist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for accurately coding medical diagnoses and procedures using ICD-10 and other relevant coding systems. This role is essential in ensuring proper medical billing, collections, and maintaining accurate medical records. The Coding Specialist will work closely with healthcare providers to ensure compliance with coding guidelines and regulations.
Duties
• Review and analyze patient records to assign accurate codes for diagnoses and procedures using ICD-10.
• Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and coding guidelines to facilitate proper billing and reimbursement.
• Collaborate with medical office staff to clarify any discrepancies in documentation or coding.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of coding practices, medical terminology, and changes in regulations.
• Assist in the management of medical collections by ensuring that all coded information is accurate and submitted timely.
• Support the maintenance of electronic medical records systems by ensuring that all data is coded correctly.
• Participate in ongoing education and training related to medical coding, billing, and healthcare regulations.
Skills
• Proficiency in ICD-10 coding standards and guidelines.
• Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
• Experience in medical office settings, including familiarity with medical billing processes.
• Knowledge of Diagnosis Related Groups (DRG) coding systems.
• Ability to work efficiently with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Strong analytical skills to interpret complex medical information accurately.
• Effective communication skills for collaboration with healthcare professionals.
