Description
Position OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Title Examiner to join our team in a fully remote capacity. You will be responsible for conducting comprehensive Florida land record searches, preparing and reviewing title examinations and related products, identifying title defects, and clearing title issues. This role requires strong analytical skills and the ability to evaluate complex documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance. Key ResponsibilitiesSearch and analyze land records to prepare detailed title examinationsReview title examinations for accuracy and compliance with Florida title standardsIdentify title issues and defects in real property transactionsDemonstrate the ability to research and acquire information on a specific property (e.g., tax bill, paid assessment letter, lien payoff) and analyze each document to determine: Is this a valid claim? Should this information be raised on the preliminary title and/or updated title? Evaluate prior starter files to determine if the property was previously insured and whether issues should be raised on title or insured overDevelop and execute strategies to resolve title problemsMaintain organized documentation and communication throughout the examination and clearing processMeet deadlines and deliver quality work in a remote environmentRequired QualificationsProven expertise in Florida title standards and title examination proceduresDemonstrated experience preparing title examinations and identifying title issuesSuccessful track record of clearing title defects and resolving title problemsStrong ability to work independently and productively in a remote settingExcellent attention to detail and organizational skillsProficiency with land record databases and title examination toolsPreferred QualificationsExperience with title examination in additional statesFamiliarity with title insurance underwriting guidelinesExperience with real property law and transaction closing proceduresEducationBachelorās degree preferred or equivalent professional experienceMinimum of 2 years of experience working within the real estate industry, specifically dealing with real estate title.ExperienceFirm knowledge of residential transaction processesPreferred experience working with a title company and/or law firmMinimum 2 years in the real estate industryStrong understanding of title commitments, county/municipal requirements, and general title clearanceAdvanced knowledge of title issues and resolution PHYSICAL DEMANDSThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
