Mortgage Loan Processor - Denton, TX

Position Summary

A Mortgage Loan Processor is the liaison between the mortgage loan originator, borrower and the underwriter. They manage a pipeline daily to ensure loan moves through the loan cycle in a timely manner. A Mortgage loan processor must verify all data given to them by clients and then prepare the loan for submission to underwriting.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Ā• Represents the Bank to clients in a courteous, professional manner, and provides prompt, efficient, and accurate service in person, by phone, or through mail.
Ā• Maintains a pipeline of loans and responsible for the timely and compliance flow of these loans.
Ā• Processes residential mortgage loans (Conventional, FHA, VA, USDA and portfolio loan products) under various loan programs in efficient, quality manner with all bank policies and procedures while meeting all regulatory requirements.
Ā• Verifies credit, employment, income and liabilities according to established procedures. Upon receipt of appraisal and title work, verifies to information provided on application. Runs AUS as necessary. Updates LOS to information received to ensure compliance with underwriting guidelines.
Ā• Completes a final evaluation and analysis of the completed application package and prepares the file for submission to underwriting, specifying any applicable conditions to the credit decision.
Ā• Notifies all applicable parties of underwriting decision.
Ā• Clears outstanding conditions and obtains final underwriting approval. Schedules loan for closing. Prepares loan for closing and submits file to Closing Department.
Ā• Provides assistance to other Processors as needed. Trains new Processors in company policy and investor guidelines and in the methods used to process a mortgage application from start to finish. Maintains and updates procedures as necessary.
Ā• Provides assistance to Mortgage Operations Manager as needed and completes research to resolve problems.
Ā• Maintains a focus on enhancing customer service skills and knowledge.
Ā• Performs other duties as assigned.
Ā• Complete regulatory and compliance training, as required.

Other Responsibilities
Ā• Support and promote the Bank vision, mission and core values, organizational structure and policies and procedures.
Ā• Must have excellent analysis, observation and decision-making skills.
Ā• 7 years of mortgage loan processing experience including Conventional, Jumbo and Government loans.
Ā• Highly focused, able to rapidly determine key priorities, clearly communicate the priorities and ensure resources are properly aligned.
Ā• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are necessary for maintaining effective relationships with Board members, officers, employees, and members of the business and civic community.
Ā• Individual should be able to work under high pressure situations and a stressful atmosphere and then should remain composed.
Ā• Provides a strong, compassionate and visible leadership, which fosters positive attitudes and trust among employees, customers, and prospects.
Ā• Comply with federal and state regulations as well as all established Bank policies and procedures.
Ā• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications, Education and Experience Requirements
Ā• A high school diploma or GED equivalent and two years government and conventional loan processing experience preferred.
Ā• Must have at least 3 years of experience and knowledge of Conventional fixed or ARM mortgage, FHA, USDA, VA and FHA loan processing.
Ā• Experience on a mortgage loan processing system preferably Encompass.
Ā• Experience with Microsoft office products.
Ā• Working knowledge of DU, LP and other AU systems, FHA connection, VA web site.
Ā• The ability to accurately input data.
Ā• Good grammar and diction. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Ā• Must be able to be physically present in the Bank to perform job duties
