Key Responsibilities
Ā Serve as the outsourced Controller/CFO for a diverse portfolio of nonprofit clients, providing expert guidance and support.
Ā Prepare and deliver financial reports tailored for management, boards, and finance committees.
Ā Propose and execute enhancements in accounting operations, internal controls, and compliance protocols.
Ā Oversee transactional accounting processes, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general accounting.
Ā Manage monthly reconciliations, month-end closing activities, and ensure the accuracy of workpapers.
Ā Analyze financial data, develop visual reports, and assist in the budgeting and forecasting processes.
Ā Administer grant allocations, funder reporting, and audit preparations.
Ā Provide training and development opportunities for clients and internal staff.
Required Skills
Ā A profound passion for working with or supporting nonprofit organizations.
Ā Proficient in Microsoft Excel and various general ledger software, particularly QuickBooks.
Ā Familiarity with nonprofit accounting, public accounting, or consulting is advantageous, but not mandatory.
Ā Bilingual capabilities (English/Spanish) are considered a plus.
Qualifications
Ā A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline is required.
Ā A minimum of 5-7 years of comprehensive accounting experience is essential.
Ā Proven ability to effectively manage multiple clients in a remote working environment is preferred.
Ā CPA certification is an asset.
