Required Qualifications
To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) requirements:
• Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL)
• Middle Grades Science Endorsement (Grades 5–8)
• Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college/university
• Successful completion of background check and fingerprint clearance
• At least 1 year of relevant classroom teaching experience preferred
Typical Responsibilities
• Plan and implement engaging, standards-based science lessons
• Foster a classroom environment that encourages inquiry and scientific thinking
• Differentiate instruction to accommodate diverse learning needs
• Assess student progress and adjust instruction accordingly
• Maintain accurate student records, including grades and assessments
• Collaborate with other educators, staff, and parents to support student development
• Participate in school-wide meetings, professional development, and instructional planning
