Some activities you would do on a typical day at Cheesecake Labs
Implementing Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD): As a DevOps you will be responsible for implementing CI/CD pipelines, which automate the process of building, testing, and deploying software, ensuring that the company's CI/CD pipeline is well-designed and properly implemented, which can lead to faster release cycles and improved software quality.
Managing cloud infrastructure: including configuring servers, deploying applications, and monitoring performance. You will help ensure that the company's infrastructure is properly configured, secure, and highly available.
Improving collaboration between development and operations teams: DevOps practices emphasize collaboration and communication between development and operations teams, which can improve overall software quality and reduce the time it takes to resolve issues. You can help bridge the gap between development and operations teams, improving communication and collaboration between the two groups.
In order to succeed, you'll likely need the following skills
3+ years of experience
Knowledge of DevOps architectures and processes, version control (Git), automation tools, databases, virtualization, and containers, IaC tools, CI/CD pipelines, and scripting
Knowledge of security best practices to protect infrastructure and sensitive data
Experience automating the build, testing, and deployment processes for faster and more reliable software delivery
Experience in operating systems and server administration
Experience with cloud platforms
English proficiency
Having a strong strategic vision and being a decision-maker
Being self-taught
Being up-to-date with the latest news and technologies about development operations
Good communication skills, both verbal and writing skills
